FAQ'S

-
The GPA-300 Graffiti Proofer can be applied to almost any surface including but not limited to: wood, concrete, brick, metal, plexiglass, paint and stucco. All surfaces should be tested first to ensure adhesion and color integrity however special attention must be given to vinyl, pre-coated surfaces, extruded polyethylene, glass or plastics
-
By itself any solvent based coating will \"wet out\" non-ferrous substrates. That is why SEI Industrial Coatings has developed the SCS-002SP. This film forming penetrating sealer will act as a barrier between any Graffiti Proofer® and the substrate. While greatly increasing adhesion it will also protect the color integrity of your surface.
-
The Graffiti Proofer has a site specific cost structure. Much like vehicles there are things that can be added or deleted. Most often the final per square foot price depends on the needs of the job. Many factors can affect this. Difficulty of application, use of sealer, environmental considerations, number of coats, porosity of substrate. It is best just to have a SEI Industrial Coatings Certified Applicator assess what your individual needs are.
-
It doesn\'t! If a job is particularly demanding then the cost per square foot may increase accordingly. That being said it may have a higher price point than some other coatings that are on the market. The old adage rings true \"you get what you pay for\" The Graffiti Proofer®, Mold Proofer® or any other coating really are the Rolls Royce of the coating world. These coatings are the best out there. In head to head competition we have NEVER been bested by any company or any laboratory testing. Ask yourself, \"Do I want a coating that does the job I need or do I want something that is the cheapest out there?\"
-
Would you want to pay for a coating that supposedly was \"paint proof\" yet allowed you to paint over it? Choose carefully what color you want before you proof it. However, the utopian aspects of this coating do allow for complete removal that is \"easier\" than any other permanent coating.
-
It can be applied to horizontal surfaces however it is highly recommended that it not be applied to areas where there is foot traffic because of the increase to the slip co-efficient.
-
The Graffiti Proofer® is clear. It does not come in colors.
-
Because it’s working. The unique characteristics of the GPA-300 require it to be a \"soft\" coating. This gives it its unique feel. Don\'t worry, its cured and its working!
-
Very easily! You COULD remove it with a dry or wet rag. For small tags this would be the way of choice. For larger tags you may not want to spend all your time out there with a rag. A small electric pressure washer from Home Depot no more than 600-800 PSI or a garden hose and a soft bristle brush would be much faster. Be careful not to try and use friction or high pressure. It\'s not needed and could damage.
-
Most taggers don\'t carry ladders so the vast majority of tags reach no higher than 9 or 10 feet. This is how high most apply the coating to prevent damage. Your building may have parapets or higher accessible areas that will need protection as well. There may be a discernible difference in the sheen of the wall in certain lights or angles. However, aesthetically it is not displeasing. If it is paramount to you then yes coat the whole building. However, many have found success in coating up to a natural break in the wall or an architectural break.
-
Application depends on the surface it is being applied to. Is it rough, jagged, smooth? Are there lots of corners and hard to reach places? An SEI Industrial Coatings Applicator is specifically trained to asses these situations and decide on the best course to take. They can choose to roll, spray or brush.
-
Thousands, tens of thousands. As long as removal is done properly this coating will not wear off and will continue to work.
-
The GPA-200, 300 and 400 have 10 year warranties when applied by an SEI Industrial Coatings Certified Applicator. However, there are projects still in existence where the coatings continue to perform after the warranty has expired.
-
There have been some instances whereby we have allowed that in the past. It is project and client specific. If it is allowed the 10 year performance warranty is not applicable.
-
This answer is product specific. Repair on the GPA-200 is different than repair on the 300 or 400. Any coating CAN be repaired but no coating is as easily repaired as the 300. The GPA-300 requires one to spray and walk away. That\'s it!
-
Because you want it to work. If you want a coating to provide you with a utopian set of characteristics then you are welcome to investigate the world of anti-graffiti coatings. We know them all; we have tested them all, personally. We are quite certain we have the only one that works as well as ours, backed by application expertise and warranty.
-
No. The GPA-300 has an independently verified perm rating, allowing moisture vapor to escape thereby eliminating yellowing or whitening behind the film.
-
All permanent urethane, solvent based coatings are glossy. However the GPA-300 because of its unique characteristics actually loses 80% of its gloss over the first few months. That gloss can be restored with a cleaning but will again tone down.
-
Anything can be scratched. Please see the question on what happens when it gets damaged.
-
Nothing can gain permanent adhesion to the GPA-300. While it may rest on it, one merely has to wipe, blow, or remove with their hand. In fact leave a slap tag on there for a couple of days and it will just fall off.
